With Brexit, the freedom of movement has also ended. UK immigration laws stand equal now for both the UK and non-UK residents. From 01 January 2021, every employer in the UK will need a sponsor licence if they intend to hire skilled workers.
Irish nationals are exempt from this.
Another exciting turning point in the UK immigration services has come from a new 2021 points-based system. Under this points system, the eligible skilled professionals will be required to secure a minimum of 70 points (5o mandatory and 20 tradeable) under the skilled worker route to have their visa granted. However, the assessment is flexible but holds mandatory requirements for every employer.
For a sponsor licence an employer's Business must be fully functional and trading lawfully in the UK. The employer can apply for more than one sponsor licence for its different branches, depending on the need. The employers can self apply for the licence or can go through expert UK immigration lawyers. An average fee of £1,476 is required for medium to large organisations to get a sponsor licence. Workers’ License categories include skilled worker visa, intra-company transfer visa, sportsperson visa, minister of a religion visa.
